“Sitting on a Rainbow” writer Norvel McDonald is a parent, storyteller, and supporter of children’s creativity. Beginning his career as a writer, he shared with his daughters the simple joy of music; from these songs, he found ideas for the enchanting world of Sitting on a Rainbow. Norvel attended and earned degrees from the University of Massachusetts and Northeastern. Previously, he attended Uniondale High School. Though he has experience in sales and marketing for the telecommunications industry, his real passion has always been in motivating and teaching the next generation via the power of story.  Apart from his writing, Norvel is committed to his duties as a father and grandfather. Originally inspired mainly by his life’s work and the eternal wisdom of imagination, creativity, and the significance of emotional connection to his children and grandchildren, he created this book to pass on to them. Norvel’s work revolves around his wish to inspire young readers to fulfill their full potential and see the world with hope, therefore improving their lives.
