I bought this book to read with my son. We loved the stories and the bonus was the music to go along with them. Good lessons presented in a memorable way! I went back and purchased 2 more copies for friends.

Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2025 This children’s book teaches in a fun and interactive way, incorporating lyrics to several songs, which can be read as poetry, istened to on YouTube. I encourage you to allow your little ones to memorize the lyrics to these songs as they impart life lessons.

As an education psychologist, I am so pleased the book, “Sitting on a Rainbow” is available to the public on Amazon. It is an empowering story for young children, especially when they experience fear and self-doubt as they explore and learn about this journey called life. With his father as his guide, the young boy, Marcus, enters a fairy tale where he learns the power of his imagination to create the experiences he wants. He learns this important lesson through the wise characters he visits in the magical castle and through the songs that are linked with the book.

This former kindergarten teacher/school administrator is so excited to see lessons about creativity as well as life woven into this beautiful story about a young boy and his dad. Teachers are always looking for quality literature to show kids that rough patches happen to everyone. Let’s see how Marco discovers that new places are just adventures. Love that the inspiration for the book came from the author’s experiences with his own children.

I just finished reading this book and I also listened to the wonderful songs as I went from chapter to chapter – it brought tears to my eyes. Overall, what I came away with in reading this book was that the lessons learned as a child go a long way towards making a happy, well-balanced adult. The people in our lives help us to become the people we are today. It really is important that each one teaches one in this world that can often be a confusing place for a child. Mr. McDonald, thank you so much for one more great example of good parenting.
