The Stories We Leave Behind

Every person we meet leaves a story or many stories behind — even if it’s never written. I’ve come to realize that our memories and experiences are what connect us as human beings. Sharing them, no matter how small they may seem, helps others understand who we are and what we’ve lived through.

With that in mind, I started writing my autobiography, Child of the Goodfire. It was an emotional journey — honest, raw, and deeply personal. But after some soul-searching, I decided not to publish it. Some stories are simply too close to the heart, and I felt they were meant to stay within my family. They lived many of those moments with me, and one day, I’ll pass the manuscript on to them.

Still, I believe we all have stories worth telling. It would be a shame to leave this world with them untold — stories that could teach, inspire, or comfort someone who comes after us. Whether they reflect the good, the bad, or something in between, each one carries a lesson. And in sharing them, we give future generations a chance to see not just where we’ve been, but what we’ve learned along the way.

I firmly believe stories are more than memories; they’re the bridges we leave behind. Through them, I hope to connect hearts, spark reflection, and remind others that every life holds meaning — one story at a time.
